The same principle applies here: Everyone should contribute as much as they can. Even small monthly contributions are enormously important to keep the project running.

The KUBO, culture and meeting space in Aarau, stands before its closure. The interim use of the Rockwell Northbuilding is coming to an end in the beginning of Summer and the search for a subsequent solution is proving to be difficult. This is why urgently need your support!
The KUBO is a project meant to have a low barrier for everyone to participate. In order to make culture and social participation accessible to people on a smaller budge, everyone who works at the KUBO does so without pay and voluntarily. That way the principle of free prices (everyone pays what they can or want) for events is possible, as well as making the use of other spaces like the workshop, kitchen, sports area, atelier, cinema, reading corner, or the free-shop available to all who are interested.
In order to stay that way, the KUBO depends on sustainable support. Requests for foundation-funds or government-aid are not only tied to continuous beurocratic horror with an absurd amount of labour, but also jeopardize the independence and functionality of the KUBO. Therefore, the future of the project should be as broadly supported as possible. Indeed, this should be through the people who make use of the broad range of possibilites KUBO has to offer, or by those who simply share the same principles. In the past, Kubo-Membership fees have intentionally never been established, and it shall stay that way. Still, this is an appeal to every user, visitor, ally and friend to regularly support the project by setting up a monthly standing order. Only that way the financial safety, which determines the sustainabile and long-term existence of the KUBO, can be certain.
As in every other aspect, there will be a focus on personal responsibility and everyone is invited to give as much as they can. Even small monthly payments are extremely important in order to keep the KUBO going the way we love and apprecciate.
1.- = you pay for a round of sirup
2.- = a broken glass for sirup can be replaced
5.- = finally a new sawblade for the jigsaw
10.- = a replacement for the XLR-cable the band accidentally took
15.- = new solder so a broken cable can be repaired
20.- = the gas-costs of a local band are covered
50.- = these transport-costs may be enough for a band from further away
100.- = costs and logistics of a band, who plays for free, are covered
200.- = is hopefully enough for water, electricity and heating
500.- = a repair can be done by a professional, so no one endangers themselves
1000.- = no stress to organise a commercially successfull party and the energy can be put into other ideas.
Naturally, other forms of contribution, affection and solidarity are also possible and very welcome. The weekly Vollversammlung is open to everyone who wants to participate more actively in the KUBO.
But the finances are sadly a elementary part for the perseverance of the KUBO. So, please set up a monthly payment - the best time is now ;) - so that everyone, including you, can continue to benefit from the Aarauer Freiraum.
